Car Rental Uganda Limited cancellation policy
This is how cancellation works when you book with Car Rental Uganda. Refund is amended accordingly with the time at which you submit your cancellation request. This is based on the amount of deposit made prior to the confirmation of the rental.
How to cancel your booking with us
Kindly send an email on our official emails; info@carhireuganda.com or info@carrentaluganda.com including the reason why you wish to cancel. Upon receiving your message, we shall confirm the cancellation and let you know if any cancellation fees apply.
General Cancellation chart;
When you cancel when there is time to the start of your rental, you will be refunded a given percentage accordingly to the length of the period remaining. This policy doesn’t apply to clients that have paid 100% for their rentals.
– 1 months and above – 100% refund on money deposited.
– 15 days to 29 days – 90% refund on money deposited
– 7 days to 14 days – 80% refund on money deposited
– 1 days to 13 days – 60% refund on money deposited
Cancelling Full Prepaid Rentals
If you made a pre-paid reservation and cancel no later than midnight 2 days before the date of your scheduled pick-up we will refund your reservation in full. If the cancellation is made after this time and before the scheduled pick-up time, we will refund your prepayment less an administration charge of $50 for small Suvs and $80 for bigger jeeps.
If you cancel a pay at location reservation, you can cancel free of charge right until the day of collection with no fee or penalty incurred. However, if you fail to pick up your car without cancelling, a No Show/Lost Rental Fee. You can find the amounts in the sub category below;
Cancelling on the Last Day
When you cancel your booking on delivery of the Car. You will be charged the dropoff charges of $40 for the Toyota Rav4, $50 for Toyota Land cruisers and $80 for luxury rentals such as Land cruiser V8, Extended Safari Land Cruiser.
If you do not pick up the car
You will be refunded 75% of the total rental fees plus the delivery fee accordingly with the type of the car you had booked. This also applies if you are not able to take the car for other reasons such as not arriving at the arranged date and time without any prior formal communication, if you do not have the right documents, if you are not eligible for the rental, for example being too young to drive a certain Vehicle type.
Cancelling when you haven’t paid upfront
We always take deposit payments to confirm bookings. Refusal to pay a deposit without consent from our reservation staff, you might not be assured of getting served most especially during high seasons.
However, if the car is delivered to you and you cancel, you are liable to pay a fine proportional to the dropoff charges highlighted above.
